You have a purpose to live out, dreams to chase, and a unique story to tell the world. My dream is to help you make it happen.
Hello, I’m Rhiza, blogger, online entrepreneur, and digital marketer who’s been chasing dreams and making a living off the internet for the past decade. (Or so.)
A wife and a homeschooling mom to now 7-year old twin girls, I never take for granted that I get to live out my purpose and make a living doing what I love from the confines of home. And now I want to teach YOU how to do the same.
On this blog, I blog about purposeful blogging
For the past decade, I’ve created, designed, and studied blogs for a living. I created and implemented digital marketing strategies for top-tier organizations, and established content marketing systems that helped startups scale.
I’ve written countless resources about digital marketing and how to use blogging as a tool to market brands and grow businesses. In the digital marketing world, we call this “Content Marketing” and “Inbound Marketing” (ring a bell?), where the main thing is to use content to generate interest, turn website traffic into leads, and nurture leads into paying customers.
Here at The Purpose Blog, I want to bring these big concepts closer to home and talk about how non-techie, right-brained, creative people (yes, YOU!) can leverage the same principles to build your own digital platform so you too can blog your purpose, start earning from your passion, and make a greater impact.
Wherever you are in your blogging journey—whether you want to start a blog, DIY design or relaunch an existing blog, establish blogging habits, grow your audience, or monetize your platform—I hope you find on these pages what you’re looking for.
If there’s anything I learned about blogging, it’s that, purpose precedes passion, performance, profit.
It is purpose, after all, that keeps you going even when passion is meh, performance is blah, or profit is zero. It brings meaning to your craft and gives you direction. It gives you the motivation to keep creating and working harder. It allows you to connect with your readers and make a difference in their lives. And this is why I believe that any blog (or any endeavor for that matter) should begin and operate from a place of purpose.
The Long Story
The role of blogging in chasing dreams.
I was 16 years old when I launched my first blog, without a clue that my “online diary” would eventually launch my career.
I don’t want to bore you with the details of my CV, but my career highlights include becoming a Digital Marketing lead for a top online retailer at the age of 24, and leaving my corporate job to work remotely for various startups, agencies, and brands over the past decade.
I also founded Pursuit Manila, a local community of Christian creatives and business owners, and launched a Boutique Design Studio where I designed brand identities and developed websites for fellow bloggers and creative entrepreneurs.
You bet, the past 10 years have been so busy! And while all of these were happening, I also survived a long distance relationship, got married, and became a mother to twin girls.
But here’s the thing: my career adjusted to my seasons in life, not the other way around.
It allowed me the flexibility to travel when I was younger and gave me unique opportunities to work from home when I needed to raise babies.
My blog has been an important tool that got me through these changing seasons. It serves as a creative outlet where I write stories and document milestones, while also being the hub where I showcase my work, offer my services, and gain unique income-generating opportunities.
In other words, this blog has become a channel, a tool, a hub, that allowed me to chase my dreams.
And now I want to teach YOU how to do the same.
SO ENOUGH ABOUT ME
Let’s talk about YOU
I know you just got here, but I feel like I already know you. You’re a creative soul who has exceptional gifts, a unique story to tell and big dreams to chase. You want to write, to tell your story, to make an impact beyond the four corners of your home, to inspire change. And you want to earn more so you can do all of the above, every day, unapologetically.
Whether you’re a mother doing a balancing act between your family and passions, a creative blogger who desires to establish a blogging habit and monetize your platform, or a side-hustler who’s been looking forward to the day your blog or passion project earns enough for you to finally quit your full-time corporate job..
I think our journeys are more similar than you think, and I want you to know that
I get you.
The Purpose Blog was created with you in mind, and I hope these pages will empower and equip you to blog your purpose.
